It is so important to help students at the age of nine and up to set goals. It helps break down overwhelming tasks and prevents anxiety in school, which has increased. The best way to start is to write down the main goal and then to break down the main goal into small, specific steps. The goal must be a S.M.A.R.T. goal. This means the goal must be specific, measurable, achievable , realistic and time related.
The goal and the steps must be written down. It helps to achieve the goal when a student can see what they need to do. The student should work on a step each day. Whenever a step is accomplished; they should pat themselves on the back. The student should also say to themselves 'I can do this."
