Encourage Your Child posted by UNKNOWN

Parents need to encourage their children to set and accomplish goals. When children feel that their parents support them and believe in them, they succeed more. Self-esteem is increased. The steps that a student writes that will help accomplish their goal , should be a baby step; so they can accomplish it. This sense of accomplishment will encourage the student to get more steps done towards the goal. Teach your child that life isn't a straight line to success, but is full of ups and downs. The setbacks should be viewed as learning experiences , not failures. Once you learn from a mistake , then move forward . Don't dweel on it. Good luck.

How to Set Goals posted by UNKNOWN

It is so important to help students at the age of nine and up to set goals. It helps break down overwhelming tasks and prevents anxiety in school, which has increased. The best way to start is to write down the main goal and then to break down the main goal into small, specific steps. The goal must be a S.M.A.R.T. goal. This means the goal must be specific, measurable, achievable , realistic and time related. The goal and the steps must be written down. It helps to achieve the goal when a student can see what they need to do. The student should work on a step each day. Whenever a step is accomplished; they should pat themselves on the back. The student should also say to themselves 'I can do this."

Don't compare yourself posted by UNKNOWN

Everyone should have their own goals they want to accomplish. Don't get involved with comparing yourself to others. It only will make you unhappy and nothing good happens. It poisons your mind. Just go after your dreams. Plan for them and believe you can achieve them. Then go and do them. Plans without action go nowhere. Don't let yourself get discouraged if you get into a slump. Push through it and move on. if you give up you will never know if you could have done it.
