We still are in the summer months, but know that school is slowly approaching. Many of us already have our children's extra-curricular calendars set for the school term. I know I do. I challenge everyone to look again at what is planned for your children and make sure we are not loading them up too much with activities after school. I know we want the best for them and want them to experience so much but there is a limit. When you crowd too many activities in after school you make your child tense and unhappy. I believe in an activity after school but limit them to what your child truly wants to do and is passionate about. Children also need some free down time for themselves.

The summer isn't over; we still have time before we are all swept up in the stress and competition of school. Let us ask ourselves the following questions: 1. Have we done this summer what we never had time to do during the school year? 2. Have we done some physical exercise with the weather so nice ? 3. Do we try and get 30 minutes a day of exercise? 4. Are we spending too much time watching T.V. or doing video games? I strongly feel we as parents, should get the answers to these questions for our children. We should be encouraging them to get more exercise and follow a passion that does not involve video gaming.

Where Are You With Your Resolutions? posted by UNKNOWN

Most of us make New Year's Resolutions on january 1st. How many of us keep those resolutions and manage them throughout the year? I strongly believe children should make these resolutions like adults do. My children have always done this and when they accomplished their desires their self-confidence shot up. Now, before school gets started, is the time to check up on our New Year's Resolutions. If we never made any , it isn't too late. Do it now before life gets so busy and stressful with the start of school and tests. Learning to set and accomplish goals will carry people far in life and make us happier.
