| Is our happiness pre-determined by our genes or can we try to be happy? I feel that one can and must choose to be happy. There are many ways to accomplish this. First off, surround yourself with people who are optimistic thinkers. If you pick on people who are negative about things that will rub off onto you and they will drag you down , too. You need to practice positive thinking yourself by repeating positive self-talk , such as, "I can do this, "I am attractive." When you make a mistake , say to yourself , "Let me learn from this and move on, everyone makes mistakes." These positive statements keep your self-esteem up. Set new goals for yourself each month.
Also, it helps if you take thirty minutes a day to do physical exercise of some sort; such as fast walking, running, playing ball or soccer. Just taking a quick bike ride is wonderful for your mind and body. If you cut down on your many extra-curricular activities you will feel less stressed and happier, too. Try all of the above and see how happy you will be!|
